Insurance
To qualify for Medicare or other insurance home health benefits, you must be:
- Home-bound (a taxing effort to leave your home)
- Under a physician’s care
- In need of nursing or therapy
When you meet these requirements, Medicare may cover other additional services including personal care and medical social services. These services must be covered by a physician and must be considered by Medicare to be reasonable and necessary for the medical needs within accepted standards of practice and require the skills of a nurse or licensed professional. Under present standards, if your care fits these rules, you medicare or other health insurance home care services should generally be covered with liability for payment depending on your individual plan.
