Dm 1 150x150 Disaster Preparation/ Recovery As mountain residents, we have a lot of safety considerations; like weather conditions, stairs, slippery walking surfaces, loss of electricity, road closures, fires, earthquakes and other things that might occur. Our staff professionals resides right here on the mountains. They are well aware of the challenges you might encounter and how to assist you with managing your condition within the environment. Are you prepared in case of disaster? With our past disaster experiences of two successful evacuations and maintenance of all our operation and services our staff “off the hill” our equipped with the information and training to assist you in being prepared for a major disaster. Their roles in that assistance may include the following information.

The skilled nurse, therapist & social worker assess the patient’s risk factors which impede a safe evacuation, the status of the dm 2 150x150 Disaster Preparation/ Recovery patient/caregiver’s current evacuation plan, & the availability, capability & willingness of the caregiver to assist with the evaluation process. Community resources & service disciplines needed to assist with promoting a safe, smooth evacuation are identified & refer to appropriate disciplines, community resources to promote a safe evaluation. Physical capability may be enhanced through evaluating & education on the disease process & management. Assist with pdm 4 150x150 Disaster Preparation/ Recovery lanning & compiling a Disaster Supply Kit. Provide training related to patient mobility, safety, exercise. Identify & address physical & architectural barriers to evacuation. Assist with information/training in the safe use of home medical equipment to assist with mobility. Disaster Recovery & associated anxiety disorders may be individually addressed.
